Nils first tried to tele in 1977 - he completed his first successful turn in 1980. Since then he has been an avid free heel and backcountry skier, teaching and skiing across the US and Canada. Nils has also produced three backcountry focused free heel videos and is currently working as a consultant for Karhu USA and on a documentary project on the roots of skiing in central Asia.
